ANYONE interested in safeguarding and promoting 900 years of living history at Farnham Castle has until Friday to apply to join the landmark’s charitable board of trustees.
Independent of corporate tenants Farnham Castle Operations, the castle trustees are responsible for making sure the tenants keep to the terms of their lease and ensure the fabric of the 12th Century building is maintained for future generations.
The board is seeking to appoint three new trustees to research the castle’s history, work alongside schools, and develop a new internet presence which will make the life and times of the castle and the Bishops of Winchester more accessible to the public.
Applicants should have a strong interest in historic building preservation, local and national history and a good knowledge of Farnham and the surrounding area.
For more details, e-mail board of trustees chairman Martin Butcher at [email protected] by the end of Friday, March 4.
