A FARNHAM town councillor has accused Waverley Borough Council of being out of touch with Farnham people over the current East Street scheme.
David Beaman, Independent member for Upper Hale, is calling on the council to hold an exhibition, explain the scheme fully, then conduct a binding household survey on whether or not to to proceed.
The council maintains it has held majority public support for the proposed regeneration of East Street ever since developers Crest Nicholson Sainsbury's were granted planning permission in 2008 for the 239 homes, 25 retail/restaurant/cafe-bar units and multi-screen cinema.
