LOCAL aristocrat, the Earl of Selborne, was high on the list of peers elected to remain in the House of Lords until the next stage of its reform is decided.

Lord Selborne, who owns and manages the 1,000 hectare Blackmoor Estate - mainly an orchard and dairy farming enterprise - told The Herald that he feels "enourmously honoured" to have been elected to continue to serve in the Upper House, where he has worked on several select committees.
