FARNHAM Maltings has until January to bid for National Lottery cash to rescue the decaying arts and crafts community venue.

Maltings managers had been told that the Arts Council would release its lottery bid criteria in the summer of last year, but it was only published this September, giving staff a race against time to put together their case.
