The Christmas lights are up and twinkling brightly around town and Gostrey Meadow.

But the festive spirit arrived in Farnham a few weeks before the big switch-on as the Cards for Good Causes shop made its seasonal return to the town long before December.

Business has been brisk in the month since the bright pop-up container appeared in the Farnham Maltings car park off Red Lion Lane.

As regulars will know, shoppers will find a huge range of charity Christmas cards, gifts, advent calendars, gift wrap and decorations being sold in aid of national and local charities.

Shirley Hair, of Ash Vale, is back as the manager of the Farnham pop up, although though she’s scaling back slightly from six days a week to five.

She has also brought on extra staff to ensure the pop-up can serve customers from Monday to Saturday in the run-up to Christmas.

“I love doing this every year, and it’s become a bit of a tradition for people in Farnham as they prepare for Christmas,” said Shirley.

“We have cards from a huge variety of charities, both big and small. Some people choose to support a cause close to their heart, others pick their favourite designs, but either way, the money goes to charity.”

She added: “We tend to get a lot of people when the weather is good and the Maltings has events but we are in everyday from Monday to Saturday.”

If you’re looking to spread some festive cheer and support good causes at the same time, then a visit to the Cards for Good Causes pop-up should be a must.

The products are sold in aid of both local and national charities with CFGC raising more than £22.5million annually for a network of more than 100 good causes.
