A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 96-year-old at a home in Liss.
Firefighters who were called to a house in Mill Road at 5.18am last Friday, May 17, found the woman dead at the scene.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed while investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
Hampshire Police confirmed late on Sunday that a 26-year-old from Liss has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident.
He remains in police custody at the time of writing with police still at the scene this morning (Monday, May 20).
