POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault by a group of 15-year-old boys on a man in Farnham Park last Friday night. The attack, which saw three teenagers punch a man who was sitting on a bench with his girlfriend behind High Park Road, took place between 10.30pm and 10.45pm. The victim was approached by one of the gang who asked for a lighter. A few minutes later he returned to ask for a cigarette, which was refused and resulted in an unsuccessful attempt to grab the cigarettes. The victim then asked the group for his girlfriend's lighter back, at which point they surrounded him and punched him in the face and body. All three boys were described as white and approximately 15 years old. The first was said to be 5ft 1in, of chubby build with short brown hair. He was wearing dark jeans and a dark-coloured short-sleeved baggy T-shirt. The second is described as 6ft tall and of an athletic build with short blonde hair, dark coloured jeans and a short-sleeved white t-shirt. The third boy was said to have a tanned complexion with short, dark brown hair and a possible earring in his right ear. He was wearing an expensive-looking white tracksuit with his hood up and the hood was described as having long tassles hanging down from it. A spokesman for Surrey Police said: "There were two other boys with the group who were both wearing dark clothing with their hoods up and didn't get involved in the assault.
