A 26-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault outside a Farnham pub at the weekend.

Officers were called to reports of an altercation involving a number of young men in St James Avenue, close to The Albion pub, at around 12.15am on Sunday morning.

A man was discovered unconscious at the scene.
