Man’s car and dog stolen while he posts letters

A MAN who only went out to post some letters ended up losing his car and his dog last week.

He had stopped in Mill Lane, Alton, at around 6-40 pm last Tuesday, and left his vehicle to post his mail when thieves jumped into his Land Rover Freelander Serengti (registration LB03 YRP) and drove off.

What they had not seen - or simply did not care about - was the owner's black and white border collie sitting in the vehicle at the time.

The car is still stolen, but luckily the dog was later found and returned safely. But not until an adventure had ensued.

It did not have the luxury of being dropped off in Farnham or Guildford. The unfortunate canine had to travel all the way to Crystal Palace before it was released.
