A LINDFORD mother has been training hard ahead of the London Marathon on Sunday.

Charlotte Featherstone is raising money for Home-Start WeyWater by taking part in the famous 26.2-mile event on April 23.

She is seeking help with sponsorship.

Mrs Featherstone, who has two daughters age three and five, took up running two years ago.

“I started doing a Rookie Runners course with the Alton Runners, doing the Couch-To-5k with a small group of other novice runners culminating in a graduation 6k run,” she said.

“Since the course, I have done numerous 5k and 10k runs, two Great South Runs, three half marathons and now my first marathon is looming fast.”

Mrs Featherstone, who works at All Hallows Catholic School in Farnham, was “so pleased when Home-Start kindly offered me the place”.

Home-Start WeyWater, based at the Chase Children’s Centre in Budds Lane, offers friendship and support to parents of children age five and under who are finding it difficult to cope, to help to prevent family crisis and breakdown.

• Mrs Featherstone is asking for a final funding boost to get her up to her £1,000 target. Anyone who can help is asked to visit www.mydonate.bt.com/
