The Countryside Regeneration Trust’s (CRT) Pierrepont Farm in Frensham has a new tenant farmer.

Kayleigh Robb, an energetic and determined individual with a love of farming and the natural world is now running the farm and is already planning ways to balance her farming activities with the needs of nature.

She also has ideas for selling her produce to the local community, including the possibility of re-installing the farm’s milk vending machine.

Kayleigh says: “I feel very lucky to be taking on Pierrepont Farm, but equally it’s a little daunting.

“Fortunately, I have been supported by my family and the CRT has also been a huge help, so I’m 100 per cent ready to get stuck in.”

Kayleigh has spent the last eight years working in organic dairy farming, recently at several farms to gain experience in sheep, beef, and arable agriculture.

She also has her own flock of sheep she’s been managing alongside her freelance farm work.

The CRT’s head of estates Kerriann McLackland said: “From her initial application to her interview, we could tell it was something that comes from the heart.

“In addition to significant farming experience working on a variety of farms, Kayleigh's people skills also made her stand out as the next tenant for Pierrepont Farm.”

Kayleigh’s appointment follows the departure of the previous tenant farmer Mike Clear and his family who had been at the farm since 2006 and the Craft Brews brewery in 2023. The latter has since been replaced by Farnham Brewing Co.

Ms McLackland added: “We give our heartfelt thanks to Mike and family for all the efforts they have put in at Pierrepont Farm over the years.

“Mike has been an excellent dairy farmer and supporter of the CRT for nearly 20 years, and we all wish him well in his retirement.”
