THE Met Office has issued a further severe weather warning for ice, valid between 4pm on Tuesday and 11am Wednesday.

Ice is expected to form on some surfaces later Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday, especially where wintry showers leave surfaces wet.

Further hail, sleet and snow showers are also likely, with the Met Office warning of the risk of injuries resulting from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

It follows an earlier ’yellow’ warning on Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday.
