MICHELE Taylor will be celebrating 10 years of working for local charity, Citizens Advice Waverley, by running the London Marathon.
Michele works for the Farnham branch of Citizens Advice Waverley and is hoping to raise £2,000 for the charity – and according to the team she is the reason their IT systems continue to run so smoothly among many of her other jobs.
“Running a marathon is something I’ve always wanted to do. The whole team at Citizens Advice Waverley provide such an amazing service to the community, advising is something I couldn’t do myself so it’s good to be able to help in this way,” said Michele.
She is currently training four times a week, with an extra long run each weekend. During the last four weeks she’s run a total of 103 miles.
“Last weekend I reached a milestone by running the furthest I’ve ever run in one session of 18 miles,” she said.
“During the winter months of training I saw some beautiful views, even seeing a deer out in the snow on one early morning run.”
Citizens Advice Waverley helps nearly 6,000 people every year to find a way forward through providing free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and support.
They cover a wide range of issues including helping people threatened with homelessness, employment problems, debt, foodbank access, claiming financial entitlements, consumer issues and much more.
