MILL Chase Academy students celebrated World Book Day in style last Thursday, bringing their favourite characters to life with some literary fancy dress.

Activitiesincluded the staff dressing up as their fav-ourite book characters for their students to identify; a three-legged race, in costume, between the school and Bordon Library; a pop-up book shop with stock provided by Waterstones, in Petersfied; screenings of book trailers in the hall and a fiendish vocabulary quiz, contested by the four school houses.

Principal Margaret Eva said: "We are grateful to the staff of Bordon Library and Waterstones for supporting us and I would also like to thank all our staff and students for being so enthusiastic. Reading, and the love of books, are very important to us here at Mill Chase Academy.

"World Book Day is an important day where we can celebrate reading and have a lot of fun."
