THE Alton Society and the Alton Chamber of Commerce and Industry remain united this week in opposition to any increase in car park charges because they say it cannot be justified on either financial or environmental grounds.
Despite achieving some concessions and reductions on the original proposal put forward by East Hampshire District Council , the revised tariff level has received the thumbs down.
