SOUTH West Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt courted controversy this week after suggesting hooliganism was to blame for the Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 Liverpool fans were crushed to death.

The Secretary of Culture, Media and Sport apologised to Liverpool fans, and families of those killed and injured in the 1989 disaster, after making the ill-informed comments following England's exit from the 2010 World Cup.
