JEREMY Hunt, MP for South West Surrey, will be attending an event about climate change at St George’s Church, Badshot Lea on March 12.
Everyone in the area is invited to come to show Mr Hunt that his constituents are concerned about this vital issue.
The climate justice event will take place from 9.30am to 1pm, with opportunities for people to network and local environmental groups to present the work they are doing to combat climate change.
Mr Hunt will be at the event at 11.30am for 40 minutes to talk about climate change.
Rev Lesley Crawley, who is a local vicar and also the environmental advisor for the Diocese of Guildford, is organising the event.
She said: “There is a growing concern among people here in South West Surrey that more needs to be done to tackle climate change.
“I believe that it is the responsibility of everyone, leaders and individuals everywhere, to do all we can to find solutions to this problem.
“Therefore, I am delighted that Jeremy Hunt has accepted the invitation from his constituents to talk about this issue with us.
“I would encourage everyone who is interested to come, we need to show Mr Hunt that this really is a political priority.”
