THE community pulled together and dug deep into their pockets and wardrobes as they donned their favourite orange attire, in aid of Weybourne school boy Harry Barnley who was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy – a rare and life-limiting degenerative disease, in June 2013.

Schools and businesses throughout Farnham took part in the Orange Mufti Day raising nearly £2,000 and counting for the Help4Harry campaign, which was launched by family members to help raise funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and increase peoples awareness of the disease.

Harry’s mother Sue said: “We had a great day, we went round six schools and did a presentation to all the children. It was great and we had some fantastic questions from the children.

“I am still waiting for one school to give me their money value but at the moment we are at £1,920 so I’m hopeful we will get to £2,000. As ever, Tom and I feel very thankful that we have such amazing supporters.”

Farnham Leisure Centre, Farnham Heath End School, Potters Gate Primary School, William Cobbett Primary School, Folly Hill Infants and Badshot Lea Infant School, were just a few who rallied together to show their support for Harry.
