IF you want Petersfield and Liss included in the new South Downs National Park write to the Countryside Agency by this Saturday, June 30. This is the plea from Hampshire county councillor John West.

Mr West has written to the Countryside Agency to request that "Petersfield, Liss and the A3 corridor" – which are part of the East Hampshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – are included in the area of search.

"I consider Petersfield is central to our AONB," said Mr West. "The area of search included the M3 by Winchester and the A3 south of Petersfield but excluded the A3 north. It has included Lewes but excluded Petersfield.

"It took 1,000 letters to get Ringwood included in the proposed New Forest national park – I implore Petersfield and Liss residents to do better. Please write NOW or by Saturday, June 30, at the latest."

The address for letters is Countryside Agency, National Park Designation Team, Dacre House, 19, Dacre Street, London SW1H 0DH.
