A SELL-OUT festival, organised by Farnham Town Council in partnership with The Wheatsheaf, offered a variety of gin-themed fun.

Gin connoisseurs sampled a range of from local and national distillers and learned how to mix the perfect gin cocktail in optional masterclasses by William Chase gin. There was also live music and free talks from Silent Pool, the Gin Kitchen and Hiltingbury Still.

Jill Hargreaves, the town council’s lead member for tourism and events, said: “The Gin Festival proved to be very popular and was a big success.

“Our garden party theme helped to create a great atmosphere and people loved the giant ‘GINga’ and free photo booth. We are already starting to think about next year’s festival so that even more people can enjoy one of the country’s best-loved spirits.”

Everybody who attended the festival received a free souvenir glass, a gin guide which included recipes and gin-inspired stories and a bottle of Fever Tree Tonic.

The festival marked the start of Farnham’s fortnight-long food and drink festival which will concludes on Saturday, September 30, with the Farnham Food Festival in Castle Street.
