A NEW chapter in the 800-year-old history of Farnham Castle opened on Tuesday when Farnham Castle Operations Ltd was officially unveiled as the successful bidder for the landmark.

It is still unclear which parties are behind the new company, which has taken over the running of the existing business at Farnham Castle with immediate effect, having successfully concluded negotiations to acquire the assets and business of Farnham Castle Briefings.

However, Farnham Castle chief executive Phil Hackett said the new organisation brings a wealth of expertise in the hospitality and events sector and aims to develop Farnham Castle as a first-class venue and local amenity, providing a sustainable future for the castle and its Norman keep.
