CARE-home operator Woodland & Hill Brow has lodged a formal complaint against the Care Quality Commission after its latest home, Farnham Mill, received a mixed response by inspectors.
Although the new nursing home, which opened in June 2018 located off the Shepherd and Flock roundabout, achieved an overall ‘good’ rating at the first time of asking, its independent family-run operator is unhappy at being downgraded to ‘requires improvement’ in the ‘well led’ category, one of five inspection criteria.
Inspectors’ concerns in this field relate to the home’s recording of residents’ food and drink consumption, as well as any “challenging behaviour”.
However, Woodlands & Hill Brow founder Alison Lee felt the home was “denied the opportunity to present our outstanding approach in certain areas”.
She added: “We were unhappy with the conduct of the inspection team, and as a result have lodged a formal complaint that is currently being investigated.”
