NORMAL household refuse collections in East Hampshire are being forced to go fortnightly in two years' time, but district councillors have realised it will take a considerable effort of "public education" to persuade residents to accept the proposed new arrangements.
The impending change, involving an alternate weekly collection of recyclables, plus a disposal service for organic garden waste, is brought about by an urgent need to reduce the green waste being deposited in household bins.
