IT was business as usual at Alton Sports Centre on Wednesday morning after a break-in the previous night resulted in a police investigation and customers having to access the building through the lower door.
Everyone Active general manager Pratik Sallan confirmed that the centre was broken into at around 10.55pm on Tuesday, although it appears nothing was stolen.
He said: “Our security company immediately notified us that the alarm had been activated, triggering a rapid response from colleagues and police.
“It was found that damage has been caused to the front doors during forced entry and minor damage to the interior of the building. At this stage we do not believe anything has been taken. We are working with the police to assist with their investigation.”
He added: “The centre remains open as normal although customers are being directed to an alternative entrance while the front doors are being fixed.”
