A second man has been released following an incident in Wrecclesham that saw armed police swarm around a food store in broad daylight.
Investigations are ongoing into the string of events that led to two men being arrested on Sunday, July 20, in an operation which involved a police helicopter, armed officers and several marked and unmarked vehicles.
A man in his 40s was released early the following day after being arrested on the Abbey View estate for possessing an offensive weapon and causing grievous bodily harm.
A second man in his 30s was arrested amid dramatic scenes outside the Wrecclesham Co-op Food Store with police telling people nearby to stay indoors.
Surrey Police have since reported that the man, who was arrested on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle and being in possession of an offensive weapon, has since been released from custody with no further action.
A street fight on Church View in Ash was the believed catalyst for the resulting manhunt and arrests on the day, with no charges being made, as yet.
