HEALTH chiefs have dealt Farnham a double blow with the announcement that the town's hospital will lose its beds and plans for a new community hospital have been scrapped.

Proposals designed to trim health spending by £10 million a year were unveiled by West Surrey Health Authority last Thursday. They focus on shorter stays in hospital and an increase in intermediate care in the home.
