A CONTROVERSIAL application for 13 houses at Bleach's Yard, off Station Road has been refused permission by East Hampshire District Council planners.
Developers proposed to build seven three-bed and six two-bed houses on a dilapidated site close to the railway line, next to existing industrial units, after the demolition of a semi-derelict warehouse.
They claimed there had been no interest to take the site on for commercial use.
The application was refused because of its sensitive nature and close proximity to other industrial/commercial uses, including their associated operations.
