YOUNG people across East Hampshire will have the opportunity to have their say about the bands they want to see at Butserfest 2008 in an online survey. This year's event, organised by East Hampshire District Council, will take place on Saturday 13 September at Queen Elizabeth Country Park. The survey will let young people vote for their favourite headliners and local bands and suggest their own ideas for bands and activities they want to see on the day. The survey can be accessed via the Butserfest myspace page: myspace.com/butser fest and will be open until Friday 29 February. The results will be used - along with demos and auditions – to help choose the best possible line-up for the event, subject to band commitments and budget. Cllr Hilary Ayer, the council's Portfolio Holder for Youth and Community said: "This is a really innovative way for young people to help us pick the bands that will play in September. When the survey closes, we will have a wish list of bands that we'll work towards getting for the event."
