A PLANNING application for a new gypsy pitch at the rear of Squire's Garden Centre in Badshot Lea has attracted widespread opposition.
Almost 80 people, including Squire's, have objected to the application for use of land off Badshot Lea Road for the stationing of caravans.
Chief among people's concerns are the impact on roads and schools, a potential upsurge in crime, and disruption during the construction phase.
Waverley Borough Council has made no firm decision on when it will determine the application (WA/2013/0667), but the next meeting of its western planning committee will take place on July 10.
