WITH new faces in the staffroom and on the back of "terrific" GCSE results, Mill Chase Academy's new headteacher has outlined some ways in which the school is developing. This September sees the beginning of the first academic year for Mill Chase since it became an academy in 2013 and principal Paul Hemmings has said he is "very proud" of the school's workforce and has high hopes for secondary education in Whitehill and Bordon. The school, which is an academy under the University of Chichester Academy Trust, has been recovering from a series of poor Ofsted inspections and a period of "staffing turbulence" which saw five interim headteachers in place in under a year. Now though, things are on the up, with improvements evident in the summer's GCSE results which were "significantly above those of the predecessor school".
