AN outline planning application made by Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd & Stax Development Ltd for 67 dwellings and a care facility on the former OSU site has been refused by East Hampshire District planning committee.

Officers felt the proposed care facility failed to provide employment to the level previously permitted on the site which had been allocated for employment, and that no justification for a lower level had been provided.

The proposed residential development of 67 dwellings, comprising a mix of one to five-bedroom units, was vetoed.
