"SORRY, I did my best but the heavyweights were too much for me," was how Selborne and Greatham district councillor Maureen Comber described how she was "ousted" from the Conservative Party by East Hampshire members last week.

As a result of the "ousting" meeting at Greatham Village Hall, she has defected to the Liberal Democrats and will be contesting her East Hampshire District Council seat for that party in the May elections.
