PLANS to develop part of an historic alleyway in the centre of Petersfield and its adjoining garden to provide office space and a shop has "outraged" members of a watchog group.

East Hampshire bin collections to shift over Christmas and New YearA planning decision by East Hampshire District Council on behalf of the South Downs National Park Authority has given the green light to extensive alterations and new building work at the site at 22 High Street.
But now The Petersfield Society, which acts as a watchdog for devlelopments and environmental matters in the town, has hit back at the decision claiming that the 17th century narrow alleyway set between two exisiting Listed buildings and within the conservation area is an admired historic feature of the town.
