Staff at Winkworth, Farnham, are aware of the problems many people have in securing a suitable place to live in one of Surrey’s most picturesque areas.
They highlighted that by adding health, mental health and recovery issues to the problem, it is clear that if it were not for charities like Transform Housing and Support, there would be many more homeless people suffering on the streets.
Transform gives homeless and vulnerable people a second chance in life. It provides housing and support to hundreds of people each year across Surrey, Sutton and Wokingham .
Most people are not even aware there is a problem in areas such as Farnham, and that is thanks to the hard work of charities like Transform. In 2015 Winkworth, Farnham. decided to adopt Transform as its charity of the year to promote and fundraise for.
On May 7, Stephen Tarrant from Winkworth Farnham, along with fellow Farnham residents Rob Baird, Ben Yallop, Jono Marval and Jo Till, legged it round the obstacle course.
Collectively they raised more than £1,400 for Transform and more than £1,200 for The Surrey Care Trust, which Ben passionately supports.
It provides education, training and mentoring which enables people of all ages to develop their practical and personal skills, making a positive contribution to society and transforming their life chances.
