A ‘BATCH’ of pupils at St John’s C of E Infant School had a ‘flipping’ good last day before half term when they enjoyed some tasty pancakes ahead of Shrove Tuesday.

The school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organised the event and it has proved to be very popular with the children.

Clair Craven is a parent governor at the school and said that it has become “something the children always look forward to”.

She added: “It’s one of those events that they love and it’s something to enjoy at 3pm on the last day of term. It’s proving to be a popular event that the children enjoy so much.”

Parents also got involved by helping serve the pancake fillings, which weren’t in short supply.

As well as gluten and vegan options, there was the traditional lemon and sugar, chocolate spread and a selection of fresh fruit.

The PTA are planning on running this ‘crêpe-tastic’ event again next year as it was a ‘batter’ success.
