THREE teams from 40 Degreez charity in Dogflud Way, raised £900 in a Rotary Club Cyclathon at Farnham Maltings for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and Frimley Breast Care Centre.
Ages ranged from 16 to over 70 and each team had to cycle a total of 50 minutes on static bikes and notch up as many miles as possible.
“Being involved with the great work at 40 Degreez certainly keeps you young,” trustees’ chairman and Hot Shots’ team leader Janet Maines, said.
“I think the 40 Degreez Cool Cats team managed the greatest amount of miles thanks to the sterling effort put in by seasoned cyclist Mike Ellis, who gave it all he had.”
40 Degreez celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, as a centre providing services to meet the many and diverse needs of the town’s young people. It runs its own clubs and activities as well as supporting other youth-orientated organisations, such as Surrey’s Youth Support Services and the Through Fourteen to Nineteen Alternative Learning Centre which provides one to one and small group teaching to local teenagers.
