A 79-year-old man needed 12 stitches to his hands after he and his dog were attacked by dogs running loose while they were walking on a golf course in Crondall. The incident took place at around 7pm on June 20, on the first fairway on the Village course at Oak Park where he was walking his cocker spaniel on a lead. A relative of the victim said that a slim, dark-haired woman who has often been seen walking dogs on the course was seen in the distance, close to the second tee near Redlands Lane. She was with "between four and six dogs" which, she said, ran toward the cocker spaniel. One of the dogs began biting the spaniel's back, while another attacked its legs. As the pensioner, who was wearing sneakers, tried to defend the pet by kicking out, the dogs diverted their attack to him, biting both of his hands. For full story, see this week's Farnham Herald.
