A NEW charity has been launched to offer extra help to vulnerable families in Farnham.

Pet Care & Partners offers support walking dogs, cleaning and feeding animals at a low cost to everyone or free to the elderly, housebound or sick, or working families on low incomes.

Natalie Jones, who previously lived in Crondall, launched the charity after seeing her mother, who suffers with Alzheimers, struggle to look after her pets, but also knowing the great benefit that they bring to her life.

Natalie said: “My mother has always had dogs in her life and since the death of her husband she has started to rely on them more and more for companionship.

“The dogs provided comfort and provided her with the motivation to carry on with day-to-day life.

“Unfortunately, due to a severe illness, she now forgets to walk them. Unable to remember her actions, she ended up feeding them up to, an extreme, seven times a day.

“This highlighted the need for assistance and Pet Care and Partners was born; providing help to those unable to fully care for their pet themselves and who may struggle to pay the full costly amount of a daily dog walking service, but still need their pets for mental health benefits, comfort and daily companionship.”

Working with volunteers, Pet Partners supports people who are at risk of losing their beloved companions.
