A petition to introduce a park-and-ride service in Farnham has been launched in answer to the town’s infrastructure programme.

It was started by Rachel Banks who believes the service is needed when the two-year programme begins in September.

Ms Banks is concerned the programme will cut off access to car parks throughout town, impacting businesses as people won’t be able to come into Farnham.

Other concerns arising from the infrastructure programme are traffic congestion and the planned housing developments at Coxbridge and Bells Piece taking place at the same time.

The proposal is for the development to be put on hold at these sites until the town centre project is completed so the sites can be used as temporary park-and-rides.

Ms Banks says the proposed sites are close enough to Farnham for easy access.
