A SCALE model of Farnham setting future development such as the Brightwells regeneration scheme amid the town’s existing architecture will go on display next weekend.
The exhibition by planning watchdog The Farnham Society will take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, February 17. at 40 Degreez youth centre behind the leisure centre in Dogflud Way.
The unique and accurate scale model has been meticulously constructed out of walnut and 3D-printed resin by The Blower Foundation and UCA interior design graduate and Stedman Blower Architects apprentice Jack Sykes.
It was initially created to demonstrate the proposed massive construction of the East Street/Brightwells development. But as time has passed, the model has been enlarged to cover the whole of the town centre and is now a valuable asset to future town planners.
It last went on display at the Farnham Christmas market and before that as part of the Recrafting Farnham project at the Farnham Maltings.
Alan Gavaghan, chairman of The Farnham Society, said: “If you care about the future of Farnham I strongly recommend that you take advantage of this opportunity to see an accurate representation of the town as it is, and what the impact of the proposed East Street/Brightwells development would really be.”
