FIVE months after Whitehill police station closed its front office - leaving the public with only a phone by the front door or a trip to Alton to talk to an officer - the town could again have its own police station.

The police are in talks with East Hampshire District Council to see if a new police station can be set up in the eco-station in Camp Road - and all the signs are promising.
