The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) Student Union will host a general election debate at the Farnham campus tomorrow (Friday), with all three parliamentary candidates for South West Surrey in attendance – Tim Corry (Labour), Paul Follows (Lib Dems) and Jeremy Hunt (Conservatives).
The hustings will take place from 6.30pm to 8pm (doors open at 6pm) in UCA’s brand-new Film and Media Centre, chaired by Colin Holden, the UCA’s head of schools of architecture and crafts and design.
Andy Squire, of the UCA Student Union, said: “It’s unusual to have an election during term time, and we know students are becoming more political than ever, so bringing the event on to UCA’s campus makes it very accessible.
“We are really proud to play this role in the community and host this event.”
The hustings is open to everyone, and is free to attend – but tickets will be required. To book your place visit www.ucasu.com, where a film recording of the debate will be available afterwards.
