THE Elstead Duck Races have come round again and will be held on Saturday, April 16, at The Mill at Elstead in Farnham Road.

Hundreds of yellow rubber ducks will take to the River Wey in the popular annual event, with the gates set to open at 11.30am and nail-biting racing drama from noon to 1pm.

This will be followed by a barbecue, all to raise money for St James Primary School.

In addition to the duck races there is the opportunity to support the event’s business sponsors in a giant duck race with prizes if you guess the winner.

‘Racing ducks’ are currently on sale in a variety of shops in Elstead and every ‘owner’ must name their duck before taking part.

Organisers of the event have thanked The Mill at Elstead and sponsors for their generous support, adding: “Whether sunshine or not there is no such thing as bad weather for ducks.”
