Coming after an 11-goal humiliation at Cove, Farnham gave a much improved performance on Saturday, losing to Cobham by the odd goal in three.

However, Town's failure to build on a good spell before half-time disappointed manager Andy Nunn.

"We just didn't get going in the second half. A couple of injuries set us back, but there was no excuse for the way we kept giving the ball away.

"After what happened at Cove, I told the players to go out and enjoy themselves. They're playing for their places next season now."

Nunn brought himself on at left-back after an injury to Simon Neal, but couldn't inspire his side to find a second equaliser against sixth-placed Cobham.

Town had earlier draw level at 1-1 on the stroke of half-time, the reliable Paul Hatton scoring from the spot after a foul on Danny Moore.

Cobham's decider came midway through the second half and consigned Farnham to their 25th loss of the season.

However, Nunn remains positive when he looks ahead. "We're going to have more senior players here next season and things will improve, I promise you."

Farnham: Collins, Hatton, Neal (Nunn), Slessor, T Smith, Frommholz, Middleton, C Wright (Ellen), D Moore, Banks, N Moore.

l Last night (Thurs), Farnham were playing Sandhurst at home. They travel to Bedfont on Saturday.
