A MEMBER of the West Street Potters in Farnham is competing to be named the UK’s top potter as a contestant in the BBC’s prime-time show The Great Pottery Throw Down.

Sally-Jo Forrest is one of 10 contestants from around the country taking part in the new BBC2 pottery competition hosted by radio DJ Sara Cox.

An interior designer by trade, Sally-Jo began taking evening classes at West Street Potters, based at the historic Farnham Pottery in Wrecclesham, five years ago.

The Farnham Pottery Trust Ltd is currently looking for trustees and volunteers to join a committed and passionate team

Volunteers and potential trustees are invited to a regular informal Monday morning ‘coffee club’ which is held from 10am in the recently restored and atmospheric central meeting area of the pottery.

Proactive trustees and volunteers are sought who have knowledge in such areas as marketing, fundraising, legal matters or experience as a treasurer. However this doesn’t rule out people from other backgrounds who have interest and enthusiasm.
