BURGERS, blues and brilliant times were on the menu last weekend as an East Hampshire school held its summer fair. The Friends of Sheet Primary School deserve a gold star for the wide variety of events they put on for visitors last Saturday. The School Lane school building and playground was packed throughout the afternoon and featured a range of activities, stalls and competitions. A grand raffle and a chance to win a barrowload of booze were the star events in the main hall, with trip on Eurostar being the top prize in the raffle. Visitors could also buy a range of health and beauty products in one of the classrooms while another was packed full of traditional games like splat the rat. The action wasn't confined to the building as a bluesy band serenaded the hungry visitors queuing for barbecued burgers and hot dogs. Pimm's and ice cream were also available throughout the afternoon while further highlights included a bouncy castle and dancing show. Proceeds from the great event are still being counted but the monies will fund new equipment and future trips for pupils.
