HALE School celebrated the harvest festival last month with collections for two local charities helping elderly members of the community.

With the help of their families, pupils donated food to Farnham Assist and the Farnham Food Bank, as well as enjoying talks by representatives of each charity.

The school has supported Farnham Assist for many years, but has recently added the Food Bank to its list of beneficiaries after it opened a collection centre in St Mark's Church opposite the school.

Hale School headteacher June Trantom thanked all the pupils' families for their generous contributions to the harvest collection.
