SOUTH West Surrey MP Jeremy Hunt is facing a humiliating Commons probe after he admitted breaking money-laundering rules to buy seven luxury flats. The Commissioner for Public Standards has been called to investigate the Health Secretary over potential violations of the MP’s Code of Conduct.

Mr Hunt initially failed to declare his 50 per cent stake in a property firm he used to buy the apartments in Southampton, falling foul of anti-money laundering legislation.

The MP apologised, saying it was an “honest administrative mistake” that was later rectified.

Number 10 responded: “Jeremy has rightly apologised for an administrative oversight, and there has been no breach of the Ministerial Code. We consider the matter closed.”
