Saturday, June 16: opening day of festival. The town crier will welcome this summer's two-week arts and community festival.

Saturday 16 and Sunday 17: The Connaught Rangers, Napoleonic Event. Following last year's successful event, Farnham once again welcomes The Connaught Rangers who will bring an exciting Napoleonic weekend to Farnham. Sponsored by Stasys Limited and Farnham Town Council.

Programme for Saturday:

11.00 Whole infantry, part of cavalry and artillery, accompanied by their ladies in period dress, will march through town. Artillery fire in Park.

12 noon Camp open for visitors.

14.00 Cavalry skill at Arms displays.

18.30 First battle – Quatre Bras: "The Knotted Rope".

20.00 Camp closed to public.

Saturday 16 and Sunday 17: Farnham Town Walks: Bourne and George Sturt walk. Conducted by Michael Leishman; this includes a short introduction to the history of the Bourne, and visits to sites of interest. Duration: two hours 30 minutes; about 3.5km. Walking shoes recommended. Maximum number 18. 2.30 pm Fox Public House, The Bourne.

Saturday 16: Farnham Youth Choir Summer Concert. Also Canzonetta and Junior Girls Choir. 7.30 pm The Farnham Maltings.

Saturday 16, Friday 22, and Friday 29: Exploring Haunted Farnham. Special guided walk recalling close encounters of the supernatural kind with insights of the inner workings of the spirit world. Duration approximately one hour 45 minutes. Dogs on leads welcome. 7.30 pm Town Hall Buildings.

Sunday 17: A Medieval Merriment. A great day out for children. Come in costume – prizes for the best dressed. The museum goes back around 800 years with a medieval encampment complete with jousting, jugglers and a jester. Medieval market place with stocks, storyteller, falcons, battles, dancing, donkeys and archers. Rural Life Centre, Old Kiln Museum, Tilford.

To June 23: Surrey Institute of Art and Design "Textural Space". A national touring exhibition of contemporary Japanese textile art. 10 am to 5 pm weekdays (to 4 pm on Saturday). James Hockey and Foyer Galleries.

To June 23: Design for Living Exhibition. Furniture, lighting, textiles, rugs, etc by selected designers. The New Ashgate Gallery, Wagon Yard.

Sunday 17: The Waverley Singers. Accompanied by the Eynsford Concert band for a concert of popular classics and highlights from the musicals. 7.30 pm Farnham Maltings.

Monday 18: The Hamsters in Concert. "Hard rockin' boogie rock from everyone's favourite rodent rockers". 8 pm Farnham Blues and Boogie Club at Farnham Maltings.

Tuesday 19 to Saturday 23: Farnham's Own Marquee Club. Live music concerts in Farnham Library Gardens. Farnham Town Council presents a week of live music concerts under cover in the town's very own "Marquee Club". Full bar and catering by Beerfest.

Tuesday 19: double bill of Jazz. "Out of the Blue", local six-piece modern jazz band playing a variety of styles including 40s swing, bebop, latin and ska. "Pete & Geoff @Jazz". Cool jazz and hot rhythms from this new-born duo. 8 pm Library Gardens.

Wednesday 20: Tom Nolan and the Bluescasters. A great sound from a really exciting trio who tell it like it is with 60s style British R&B. The band is the house band at the famous Eel Pie club at Twickenham. Tough no-compromise music from veteran musicians who play R&B as it should be played. 8 pm Library Gardens.

Thursday 21: voices and Strings. An evening of quality music featuring: Vivaldi Singers Chamber Choir, directed by Jacqueline Protheroe, with a programme of madrigals and English love songs. Wessex Singers Chamber Choir. Special guest appearance by Ben Pugsley, Farnham's favourite guitar virtuoso, with a programme of varied guitar music. 8 pm Library Gardens.

Friday 22: ZigaZag! Cajun Band. ZigaZag! is one of the principal Cajun Bands based outside Louisiana and has gained recognition as having an authentic Cajun sound featuring accordion, fiddle and guitar. During the past year they played at several venues in Louisiana during the Mardi Gras celebrations. 7.30 pm – Dance workshop, 8.30 pm – Concert. Library Gardens.

Saturday 23: the Celebration Band. Local Group The Celebration Band goes from strength to strength with another year of gigging since their last appearance at the festival. Go along and party to your favourite songs of the 60s through to the 90s. 8 pm Library Gardens.

Wednesday 20 to Saturday 23: during the day a series of exhibitions and events will be held in the marquee in the Library Gardens. Wednesday, Farnham Town Council; Thursday, World Wide Ahmaidiyya Muslim Community from Islamabad in Tilford. This exhibition will express the religious, cultural, moral and social values of this community. Bookstalls, videos, information leaflets, free tea and coffee. "Love for all Hatred for none": Friday, Churches Together.

Saturday, 11 am - 5 pm. "Manifesto for Life". A day of teaching and worship for young people challenging them about how to live as Christians in the 21st century. Farnham Christian Community Trust.

Thursday 21: Texas Thunder, "High octane blues and R&B". 8 pm. Blues & Boogie Club at Farnham Maltings.

Friday 22: organ recital. Organ recital by Geoffrey Morgan (Diocesan Music Adviser) to mark the completion of the organ repair work. 7.30 pm. St Peter's Church, School Hill, Wrecclesham.
