Sir, – The recent announcement to introduce 24-hour licences for pubs is a very good idea. The council, who will be looking after this now, will have to be very careful or it could be a nightmare for Farnham.
If they deem it right to close doors at 1 am or 2 am or even 3 am, the 11-30 spill onto the streets will just be very much later. A close at an "earlyish" time would still have the same effect.
The word close has to go unless a landlord wants to
finish for the night. I hope our councillors can see this or it could get silly.
